Minister of Health to Attend the Inauguration of the First Nuclear Pharmacy Specialist in Indonesia

The Central Board of the Indonesian Pharmacists Association (PP IAI) through the Indonesian Collegium of Pharmaceutical Sciences (KIFI) will inaugurate Nuclear Pharmacy Specialist Pharmacists on Wednesday, September 30, 2020, offline and online.

According to the press release received, the inauguration will be attended by the Minister of Health (Menkes) of the Republic of Indonesia, Dr. Terawan Agus Putranto, accompanied by the Chairman of PP IAI, Drs. Nurul Falah Eddy Pariang; Chairman of KIFI, Prof. Dr. Keri Lestari, MSi Apt. followed by a Nuclear Pharmacy Specialist Pharmacist webinar which will present speakers from colleagues of Nuclear Medicine Specialist Doctors who will carry out health services in an interprofessional collaboration at the Nuclear Medicine Installation at the Hospital.

''This is the inauguration of the nuclear pharmacy specialist pharmacist which was first carried out by PP IAI, after some time conducting a series of assessments and reviews of RPL (past spending recognition) on candidates in collaboration with Nuclear Medicine Specialist Physicians to build the privileges and credentialing of Nuclear Pharmacy Specialist, '' said Prof. Dr. apt Keri Letasi, MSi.

It is planned that apt Nurhuda, M.Farm, and apt Dra N Elly Rosilawati, MHKes, M.Farm will be inaugurated as the first Specialist Pharmacists in Indonesia.

Nuclear Pharmacy Specialist, according to Prof. Keri, is a pharmacist whose competence is specifically to provide pharmaceutical services in nuclear medicine installations in hospitals. In accordance with the development of nuclear medicine in health services, nuclear pharmacy specialist pharmacists are urgently needed.

This is in accordance with the regulation on nuclear medicine installations from Bapeten which requires pharmacists with competence in the field of medicine using radioisotopes. The existence of this Nuclear Pharmacy specialist will strengthen health services in the field of nuclear medicine in the corridor of interprofessional collaboration with nuclear medicine specialists.

Meanwhile, the General Chairperson of PP IAI, apt Drs Nurul Falah Eddy Pariang expressed his gratitude for the inauguration of a Nuclear Pharmacy Specialist for the first time.

''Alhamdulillah robbil alaamin, KIFI was able to produce the first specialist pharmacist. This is proof that the pharmacist profession also carries out competency development in accordance with the needs of the community and is also able to develop itself as a partner for other health workers,'' he said.

Furthermore, Nurul Falah hopes that other new specialist education will continue to be produced as benchmarks abroad such as Pharmacists, Oncology Specialists, Ambulatory, and other specialists according to the needs of the community. It is hoped that it will be able to increase collaboration with other health workers.

Nurul Falah also hopes that advanced pharmacists should also be realized immediately and immediately get recognition from the government and benefit the community.

He said, KIFI as a functional body that supports pharmaceutical disciplines within the IAI organization has always been committed to developing the specialist pharmacist profession. So far, there are 15 candidates who have volunteered to be recognized as Nuclear Pharmacy Specialist Pharmacists, but only two have passed the selection.

After undergoing the selection, they also had to do an internship and were declared to have passed the RPL assessment on 3 September.

To be confirmed as a nuclear pharmacy specialist pharmacist, the candidate must have practical experience in a nuclear medicine facility, and possess scientific publications, education, training, and self-development. In addition, they are also assessed in terms of leadership, collaborative working relationships, and management.

RPL is the achievement of learning (CP) obtained by a person from formal or non-formal education and or work experience at the level of higher education starting from level 3 KKNI (Indonesian National Qualifications Framework) or D-1 Program up to level 9 KKNI qualification (program doctor)

Mersitekdikti Regulation No. 26 of 2016 regarding the recognition of past learning article 2 RPL aims to:

  1. Get CP recognition to continue formal education and
  2. Get CP recognition to be equated with certain qualifications.

Type A is for obtaining a diploma, while Type B is for recognition of equality with certain KKNI qualifications.

''Type B is an initiative of universities and the community to give recognition to individuals with the final output of the SK Equalization. This is what PP IAI has done with the inauguration of two Nuclear Pharmacy Specialist Pharmacists on September 30,'' said apt Drs Nurul Fallah.

Currently, there are 13 other candidates who will still undergo the next stage of the interview to be confirmed as Radio Pharmacy Specialist Pharmacists.

After the inauguration, it will be followed by a webinar with speakers Prof. Dr. apt Keri Lestari Dandan, MSc with material on Professional Development of Pharmacists According to the Advance Level Framework (ALF), and Prof. Dr. Dr. Hussein Kartamihardja, SpKN, MH.Kes with material on the Role of Radiopharmaceutical Specialist Pharmacists in Services Nuclear Medicine.(Ed./NW)
