The corona virus PANDEMIC or Covid-19 still has not shown abating. Although the number of recovered Covid-19 patients continues to increase, the number of cases and deaths due to Covid-19 is also still increasing.

Now a number of parties have worked for hand in hand to support the Covid-19 response team which continues to struggle to overcome the Covid-19 pandemic. However, medical personnel at referral hospitals for handling Covid-19 patients who are on the front lines still need supporting devices such as disinfectant liquid, hand sanitizers, and personal protective equipment (PPE).

Donations in the form of 4,500 PPE, 500 liters of hand sanitizer, and 200 liters were again distributed to a number of referral hospitals that handle Covid-19 patients. The referral hospitals that received assistance were the Bekasi City Regional General Hospital (RSUD), Bekasi Regency Hospital, Gatot Soebroto Army Hospital, Husada Hospital, Tugu Koja Hospital, and Friendship Hospital.

The donation of PPE, hand sanitizer, and disinfectant liquid came from the dermatology pharmaceutical company that produces 88 ointments and 88 creams, Meccaya Pharmaceutical, which has just celebrated its 38th birthday.

The handover of donations was carried out by the Meccaya Response Covid-19 team led by Meccaya Pharmaceutical's Director of Operations Riduan Kaban, as well as Oni Ruslani, Rosalia, and Tia Oktaviani as representatives from each division.

Meccaya Pharmaceutical President Director Ricky Surya Prakasa said this assistance is an effort by the company to support Indonesian medical personnel who continue to struggle against the Covid-19 pandemic.

"We are concerned that there are still many COVID-19 referral hospitals that experience a shortage of PPE. This encourages us to help so that at least all medical personnel who are fighting at the forefront can get a high standard of safety in carrying out their duties," said Ricky, through his official statement, Sunday (26/4).

In addition to material donations, Ricky also reminded the importance of providing moral support and enthusiasm for medical personnel throughout Indonesia.

Meccaya Pharmaceutical's Director of Operations Riduan Kaban appealed to the public to remain calm and alert, maintain health, and obey government regulations such as physical distancing and large-scale social restrictions (PSBB).

Riduan also said that the company's social actions will continue to be pursued, among others, by distributing basic necessities and hand sanitizers to underprivileged communities, either directly or in collaboration with various competent and transparent foundations.

"We hope, with the support and cooperation of all parties, the handling of Covid-19 can run more effectively, quickly, and safely, so that the spread of Covid-19 in Indonesian society can be immediately cut off," he concluded. (RO/OL-09)
